The 400/1000 grit is excellent and offers great performance for your 109 dollars. You are getting a quality resin bonded Stone that has fairly consistent diamond and a good concentration of diamond with two grits and 3.5 mm per side of abrasive for basically $109 or $55 per side that is a smoking good deal.

Quality and performance and value these are five out of five stars all day long getting two stones and four grits for basically $220 and all four grits perform excellent is a fantastic bargain and if they added one more Stone to the mix and 100 and 220 grit or something round about that you would be able to have all three stones and six grits for under $350 shipped to your door this would be quite possibly the best value for a full progression of high performance Diamond Stones in the sharpening world. They are absolutely missing a whole bunch of customers by not offering a low grit option a 100 and 220 would be absolute fire and needs to be added to this set i can't stress it enough adding a 100 and 220 Grit to this lineup and you will sell a ton of these.

These are excellent quality resin bonded stones. I'm very impressed with both models in all 4 grits. I would say they are pretty close to rated grit in all 4 girts with the 1k being a little lower than a true JIS 1k grit stone but the other 3 grits are pretty true to stated grit. The tactile feedback on these stones is really good, better than the Russian and Ukraine brand resin stones in my opinion and the finish the stones leave is very good. The edges come up very sticky sharp and getting hair whittling edges off the 2500 and 5k is super easy. The diamond sizing is nice and consistent and leaves a nice consistent scratch pattern and there is ample diamond concentration so the stones cut fairly quickly. The resin they are using doesn't load up badly and with a good stone lube like mine they don't load up or glaze hardly at all so that's a big plus but if you just use water or water and dish soap they will load up a little and glaze over especially the 2500 and 5k but that's to be expected so no points taken for that. At 109 dollars these stones are a great value and offer a lot for the money and the performance the stones offer speaks for its self! They did a great job on these stones just like they did on the cbn plates they offer. I like this company and feel very comfortable buying stones/plates from them because they know what they are doing and make quality high performance abrasives. I have some of their cbn wheels on my tormek and they are excellent! That's how I discovered this company and bought the cbn plates they offer and loved them so when I seen the resin stones I knew I had to try them and I have been totally happy with the performance they offer.

cuts fast ... feels finer that the stated grit on both the 400 and 1000 ... and looks finer under magification ... specs at 3.5 mm looks thicker by my less that precise measurement ... first tried it on d2 blade will be ordering the 2500/5000 ... i have a bunch of old style diamond plate that pretty expensive .... this feels like an upgrade .... looking forward to the resin bonded cbn ... the 400/1000 is a recommended upgrade from old metal bonded diamond plates and cheaper that the glass plate style ... durability is yet to be seen ...

Nice 3x8 inch resin bonded stone. Seems to cut well and wears slowly from what ive seen. I sharpened a few knives on it just to try it out when I got it. The resin layer is nice and thick, it seems to cut decently. I have several venev stones but none 3x8 inch, so this was a nice addition to my collection. For the price this stone is a great buy and im sure ill get plenty of use out of it. Nearly half or 1/3 the cost of a venev stone the same size. If it wears as slowly as my venev stones, I doubt ill ever completely wear it out since the resin layer is twice as thick as my other stones. The more ive used it the more I realize it was a great purchase!
